Terms of Use
Effective July 27, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the website and member platform (the “Service”) operated by the Get Up N Ride Foundation (“Get Up N Ride,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Who can use the Service
You must provide accurate information when creating an account, and keep it up to date. Each person should have only one account. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must create your account, complete the waiver, and agree to these Terms on your behalf. Guardians are responsible for their minor's activity on the Service.
Assumption of risk -- physical activity
Cycling, group rides, fitness classes, and other physical activities offered through Get Up N Ride involve inherent risks, including the risk of serious injury. Before participating in any ride or event, you (or your parent or guardian, if you are a minor) must read and sign the Foundation's participant waiver, which describes these risks in more detail and is a separate, required agreement in addition to these Terms. Registering for a ride or event through the Service does not replace or waive the requirement to sign that waiver.
You are responsible for assessing your own fitness to participate, wearing a helmet where required, following the instructions of ride leaders and staff, and obeying all traffic laws while riding.
Registration, waitlists, and cancellations
Rides and events may have limited capacity. Registering does not guarantee a spot once capacity is reached -- you may be placed on a waitlist and offered a spot if one opens up. Get Up N Ride may change the date, time, route, or location of a ride or event, or cancel it entirely (for example, due to weather), and will make reasonable efforts to notify registered participants. If a ride or event you registered for is cancelled, any associated fees will be refunded or credited at the Foundation's discretion.
Fees and payment
Some rides may offer optional paid add-ons, such as bicycle rental, where noted at registration. Where payments are collected, they are processed securely by our payment processor, Stripe. Refunds for paid add-ons are handled at the Foundation's discretion and, where applicable, according to the cancellation policy stated for that ride or event.
Code of conduct
Get Up N Ride is a community space for people of all backgrounds and skill levels. We expect everyone using the Service, and everyone participating in a ride, event, or volunteer shift, to treat other members, ride leaders, staff, and the public with respect. We may suspend or remove access to the Service, or decline to allow someone to participate in future rides or events, for conduct that is unsafe, harassing, or otherwise harmful to the community.
Photos and video
By participating in a Get Up N Ride ride, event, or program, you agree that we may photograph or record video of the activity and use those images or footage on our website, social media, and in other promotional materials, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Your content
If you submit information to the Service (such as your profile details or a message to staff), you are responsible for making sure it is accurate and that you have the right to share it. You agree not to use the Service to post anything unlawful, abusive, or that infringes on someone else's rights.
Intellectual property
The Get Up N Ride name, logo, and the design and content of the Service are owned by the Get Up N Ride Foundation. You may use the Service for its intended purpose -- browsing and registering for rides, events, and volunteer opportunities -- but may not copy, reuse, or redistribute our branding or content without permission.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Get Up N Ride Foundation, its staff, volunteers, and ride leaders are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits the separate assumption-of-risk and liability terms you agree to in the signed participant waiver required for rides and events.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms or the Foundation's code of conduct.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time as the Service changes. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
